Just a few friends… and a party with a purpose.

I really do…. appreciate….the fact your visiting here!

JIMMY BUFFETT Concert * April 19th * Breaker’s * 7pm

What???? A Thursday night Dallas concert??? None of us were expecting this to happen. Doesn’t JB know that people actually work? and it’s hard to take off two days with no pay? But it did happened….. so…. the next best thing to being there at the concert and having our crazy tailgating fun is to hear it broadcast live via SIRIUS RADIO !

Breaker’s Seafood Restaurant has graciously invited our club to come have our own concert party and they will play the concert “LIVE” for us. Dress up in your usual gaudy, distasteful tailgate outfits and let’s have some fun…. Phins Up Parrot Heads!

LAGO DEL PINO Patio * April 12th * 8pm

How about a little Pre-Buffett Concert party???? Jerry Diaz (whom you might remember played at our “Tales & Tunes” crawfish boil last year) will be right here in Tyler at the new Lago Del Pino Restaurant starting at 8pm. It is located on CR 1134 (Old Chandler Highway). Directions from Broadway: Take Loop 323 W; Left on Spur 364; continue on past Lindsey Park Soccer fields; Left on CR 1134. Restaurant is on the right – you CAN’T miss it! Looks like the Oasis in Austin. Outdoor stage and patio venue – dress tropical – flip-flops required :)

“WHAT IS A PARROT HEAD?”

First and foremost, we are a social club. PHiP (Parrot Heads in Paradise, our parent) is registered with the IRS as a 501 (c) 7 is a Non-Profit Corporation, whose purpose is to assist in community and environmental concerns and provide a variety of social activities for people who are interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies.

Secondly, we “party with a purpose“. Our goal, when being social, is to earn money for charity, provide a valuable service, improve the world, or generally help others. Our charities for the 2011 fiscal year is Breckenridge Village and East Texas Crisis Center. We meet once a month to change our attitudes and “party with a purpose” where local restaurants have been generous in contributing by donating a percentage of our the sales we generate back to our club for our charities.

Thirdly, most people in the club like the laid back topical life style, which includes trop-rock, island, and poolside music. Of course, Jimmy Buffett, is the principal of our affection. Parrot Heads gather together to tailgate before every Buffett concert sporting their outlandish tropical attire and cooking cheeseburgers and drinking margaritas in honor of Buffett’s island songs.

There are over 230 Parrot Head clubs in the U.S. plus international clubs based in Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Australia. There are over 25,000 card tote’n members.
